CEREBRAL PALSY
What is cerebral palsy?
Cerebral Palsy (CP) is a disorder that impacts the brain (cerebral) and coordination of movement (palsy) that is diagnosed in infants. CP can be caused by a variety of medical issues in the womb, during birth or in an infant when the brain is continuing to develop. As such, it can impact a person in a spectrum of severe to minor movement, muscle and sensory impairments.
CP can impact mobility throughout life and provides challenges in the different phases of a person’s level of independence. No matter the goal, whether it be joint range of motion, sensory stimulation, muscle activation or postural and gait rehabilitation, our physiotherapist Lindsay Brown would be able to assist in your own, or your child’s rehabilitation goals.
